Review

Comfort is king when it comes to practically any outdoor activity.  The last thing anyone wants is for their feet to bother them in the middle of a hike.  While there are different kinds of footwear for different kinds of hiking, the Timberland Thorton’s are a versatile boot.  Full grain leather provides durability, while the Gore-Tex membrane keeps these boots breathable yet waterproof.  I purchased these before my trip to Colorado in December, 2016, and while my toes did eventually get cold trudging through knee deep snow in sub zero temperatures, they stayed completely dry.   Since then, I have also used them on a hot day in the Santa Monica Mountains, and my feet stayed comfortable the entire time.  If I were to go snowshoeing again, I wouldn’t mind having a warmer boot, but if you are looking for a product that will last you a long time, one that will keep your feet dray in a wide range of conditions, and is easy on the wallet, the Thorton’s are not a bad way to go.
